Ageless Beauty: Skincare and Makeup Tips for Women Over 60
Skincare and Makeup Tips Growing older is truly a gift that brings wisdom, confidence, and a beauty that’s your own. If you’re in your 60s or beyond, I’ve learned that effective skincare and makeup don’t need to be complicated. In fact, I’ve found that the secret to looking and feeling your best comes down to simplicity, keeping your skin hydrated, and embracing your natural glow. Whether you’re refreshing your beauty collection or starting a new routine altogether, I’m sharing tips today that have helped me—and can help you—feel absolutely radiant.
Skincare Tips for Women Over 60: Nourish, Hydrate, Protect

Our skin changes as we age (don’t I know it!), and our skincare should evolve too. I’ve discovered that focusing on these three principles makes all the difference.
1. Hydration is Non-Negotiable
Let’s face it—our skin gets drier as we age. That’s why I never skip my rich moisturizer. Here’s what I look for:
- Hyaluronic acid practically drinks up moisture for your skin
- Glycerin and ceramides that keep that precious moisture locked in
- Squalane for that lovely dewy finish we all want
Between you and me, I’ve fallen in love with CeraVe Moisturizing Cream for both day and night. It’s a game-changer!
2. Gentle Cleansing Only
I’ve learned the hard way that harsh cleansers are not our friends! Instead, I reach for:
- Creamy cleansers or balms that remove makeup without stripping my skin
- A soft washcloth that treats my skin with the tenderness it deserves
3. Use a Vitamin C Serum Daily

Trust me on this one—Vitamin C has brightened my complexion and faded those pesky age spots I used to obsess over. I apply mine every morning before sunscreen and have noticed such a difference.
My personal favorite? TruSkin Vitamin C Serum. My friends always ask what I’ve been doing differently!
4. SPF, Always
Yes, even at our age! I was shocked that sun exposure is the #1 cause of skin aging. I never leave home without at least SPF 30.
EltaMD UV Clear SPF 46 feels like nothing on my skin but protects like everything—perfect for daily use!
Makeup Tips for a Radiant, Timeless Look

I’ve found that makeup after 60 isn’t about hiding, it’s about highlighting what makes us uniquely beautiful. These techniques have become my daily go-tos.
1. Lightweight Foundation or Tinted Moisturizer
Heavy foundations sitting in my fine lines? No, thank you! Instead, I’ve switched to:
- Tinted moisturizers with built-in SPF (two birds, one stone!)
- Hydrating foundations with a natural, satin finish
IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream has become my holy grail—it covers what I want while letting my real skin shine through.
2. Cream-Based Products Are Your Friend
I ditched the powders years ago and never looked back! Now I use cream:
- Blush that gives me that “just came in from the garden” flush
- Bronzer for a subtle warmth that doesn’t look fake
- Highlighter that catches the light just right
They blend like a dream and give me that glow I thought I’d lost!
3. Define Your Brows
When my brows became thinner, I discovered how a soft pencil or tinted gel could frame my face again. I always choose a shade that matches my hair color for the most natural look.
4. Lift with Liner and Mascara
A little definition goes a long way:
- I use a soft brown liner, smudged gently along my lash line
- Curling my lashes and adding mascara opens up my whole face
👁 L’Oréal Paris Age Perfect Lash Mascara was made for women like us—it doesn’t clump or flake!
5. Lip Color That Pops
As my lips lost their natural color, I found that the right lipstick brought them back to life! I always:
- Line my lips first to prevent feathering
- Choose hydrating formulas that don’t settle into lines
- Gravitate toward mauves, berries, and rose tones that brighten my face
Have you tried Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in “Rum Raisin“? It seems to flatter everyone I recommend it to!
Beauty Tools Worth Treating Yourself To
I’ve invested in a few tools that have made my routine so much easier:
- An LED light therapy mask that’s helped with my skin’s firmness
- A facial roller I keep in the fridge for morning puffiness
- A good magnifying mirror with lighting (our eyes need a little help!)
The Vanity Mirror with LED Lighting is worth every penny.
Final Thoughts: Embrace the Beauty of Now

I’ve learned that being over 60 isn’t about chasing after youth, it’s about celebrating who I am today and choosing products that enhance the face I see in the mirror. With these simple updates to my routine, I feel more like myself than ever.
